The Energy Training Foundation (EnTF) and the Southern African Association for Energy Efficiency (SAEE) hosts the Annual Training Certification Ceremony where professionals in the energy engineering, energy management, and renewable energy fields are acknowledged for achieving the successful completion and Certification application processing of:
- The Certified Energy Manager (CEM®) course
- The Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP®) course
- The Certified Energy Auditor (CEA™) course
- The Certified Renewable Energy Professional (REP™) course
The Certification Ceremony is held as the lead to the annual Southern African Energy Efficiency Convention, the flagship event of the SAEE. Top Students in each of the AEE disciplines are also recognised by the SAEE at the Certification Ceremony.
Developed by the US-based Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), the CEM®, CMVP®, CEA™ and REP™ training courses are recognised in 90 countries as the leading standard of training in energy management, measurement and verification, energy auditing and renewable energy competence. Confidence is maintained internationally due to the continuous education programme that is required to maintain professional certification status. Granting of certification is also not based on passing the course examination alone, specific educational and/or experiential criteria are a compulsory requirement.
The EnTF is proud to have been instrumental in developing highly acclaimed skills in energy engineering required to meet the needs of the South African government, industry and authorities. Almost 500 Southern African professionals have received certification and form part of an international professional body of over 16,000.
CEM®, CEA™, CMVP® and REP™ professionals that have earned Certification credentials, are distinguished in their field, and demonstrate high levels of experience, competence and specialised knowledge.
